A Local Favourite for 2 decades
We've been serving up great pints and good vibes for over 20 years, and it's amazing to see that it’s as busy as it’s ever been. Whether you're here for the live music that gets the place buzzing, the midweek sports fixtures that bring the community together, or just a chat with familiar faces over a well-poured pint, you’ll always feel right at home.
We’re proud to be a local favourite, where stories are shared, friendships are made, and good times are always on tap. Whether you’re a regular or just passing through, you’ll always get a warm welcome at the Star and Garter.

I think the pub is very well run by excellent staff, all very friendly & easy to get on with, beer prices are very reasonable too

Friendly yet vibrant atmosphere. Welcoming landlord & staff with great selection of drinks, all reasonably priced. Good local music acts at weekends.

A lovely little cosy pub and the bar lady Kerry really helped us out in our hour of need. We had moored up over a mile away and no pubs were doing food, my kids were tired and hungry and kerry let us eat our food from the takeaway in there as late and raining. She really went above and beyond for us and any parent knows in these situations you need a little bit of help and luck. Also very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. So if your near by and in need of a drink and some friendly company, choose this place and you won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been drinking in the pub since 1974. I seen loads of landlords over the years, and Dave and Carlene still here to tell the tail. A very friendly pub.

You can walk in The Star on your own and everyone talks to you. Such a welcoming place to be. Love the weekend entertainment
